SKAte[Slate]
I have always been passionate about pushing boundaries and striving for innovation. So, when Tim Cutting called me—introduced by an influential member of the skate community (Michael Brooke)—we recognized a need for a global representation of DH skateboarding with a professional edge in print. That was the catalyst for us to co-found Skate[Slate].
Beginning as an online magazine and active blog that covered everything happening in longboarding, Skate[Slate] quickly grew with support from the industry's biggest brands. Our distinct vision for Skate[Slate] set it apart and propelled it to quick success.
As the online magazine and blog continued to gain traction, Skate[Skate] evolved into a print publication featuring contributions from top names in DH skateboarding, including renowned photographers like Jon Huey and Max Dubler. My passion for capturing events in video form added an extra layer of excellence to our launch and helped us gain more supporters in the initial years.
Three years after its inception, I moved to Japan to launch a Japanese version of Skate[Slate]. This bold move was a testament to my unwavering commitment to innovation and changing perspectives. My leadership and passion for skateboarding continue to inspire others in the community to push boundaries and make a positive impact.
Unfortunately, due to an error by GoDaddy, we lost a significant amount of work, and the blog suffered a devastating death.
