The journey to create Lid Tech, a spinoff of Colabo, was not without difficulties. The branding underwent several changes and the research and development process was a long road filled with prototypes that were, at times, concerning. Despite these challenges, Dan's dedication to safety never faded, and he eventually succeeded in creating a helmet that revolutionized the DH skate scene.

The Lid Tech helmet was a breakthrough, providing riders with the protection they needed to confidently enjoy the sport. No longer did skateboarding need to borrow from other sports to ensure rider safety. Today, there are only 20 Lid Tech helmets in the world, including one that Dan keeps in Japan, a testament to the rarity and significance of this groundbreaking piece of equipment.
